Painter Mark Kostabi epitomized the late ’80’s art craze in New York City, selling his paintings to celebrities and collectors for vast sums of money.
He also became notorious in the New York art world when it was revealed that his studio was populated with several minimum wage assistants that not only helped with painting but contributed ideas. Diana Gentleman was his chief assistant and ideas person.
